Fleet transition

A credible next chapter for ageing tonnage

We help owners, financiers and operators assess continued trading, structured regional ownership and responsible recycling pathways for older commercial vessels.

More than a disposal decision

Match the vessel's condition to the right pathway

Age alone does not determine a vessel's future. Technical condition, class, regulatory outlook, operating economics, market need and credible management all matter.

Direct Sale

Market suitable vessels to credible operators or investors where continued service remains technically, legally and commercially supportable.

Structured Ownership

Explore lease-purchase or staged acquisition pathways for carefully screened regional operators, subject to finance, class, insurance and management readiness.

Responsible Recycling

Plan sale for recycling through legally eligible, appropriately vetted facilities, with attention to flag, jurisdiction and environmental requirements.

West African ownership

Bridge viable tonnage with credible regional operators

West Africa has real demand for maritime capacity, but transactions fail when vessel condition, management capability, finance, insurance and regulatory readiness are treated separately. GDNA Group's role is to bring those questions into one controlled assessment.

Where the evidence supports it, a vessel may trade under a structured ownership pathway before a planned end-of-service transition. Every case remains subject to independent technical, legal, class, flag, insurance and finance approval.

Readiness must cover

  • Verified operator and beneficial ownership
  • Technical condition and remaining economic life
  • Class, flag, insurance and crewing pathway
  • Employment case and cash-flow resilience
  • Transparent end-of-service obligations

Responsible recycling

Facility eligibility comes before geography

Recycling recommendations depend on the vessel's flag, applicable law, facility approval status and transaction structure. We do not treat every recycling destination as interchangeable.

For EU-flagged large commercial vessels, recycling must use facilities on the European List. Owners should obtain current legal, environmental and technical advice before committing to a recycling sale.

Review the vessel before the options narrow.

Earlier assessment creates more room for an orderly sale, finance discussion or responsible recycling plan.
